Global Health Services

A division of

Global Outreach Mission

The purpose of Global Health Services, a division of Global Outreach Mission, is to engage in genuinely, holistic ministry. We believe that God’s work, to which we are called, should be directed toward both the spiritual and the physical realms of people. Just as there is no compartmentalization between an individual’s spiritual, mental, social and physical aspects, so there is no dichotomy between the spiritual and physical ministries within the world view of Global Health Services. It follows that those whom God leads to join in this ministry would be totally committed to people’s spiritual needs as well as having a profound concern for mental, social and physical needs.

The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Matthew 9:36  NKJV

Medical workers are needed for prison ministry and dentists for a dental clinic. We are working in a new polyclinic in the southern banana-growing district. We are hoping to build a second clinic in the South, either at Independence or Puma Gorda. Punta Gorda is the site where we have started a new Christian radio station. Finally, we are helping in the health care delivery to 1000 prisoners at the Hattie Ville prison near Belize City. A couple with the gift of hospitality to host short-term workers and teams.  Experienced radio operators for the new station.  Pastors to train national pastors with little biblical background. Short-term helpers to do both evangelism and building.

Peten

A medical doctor is urgently needed in the Peten area. There is a new clinic set up and running in San Benito. A knowledge of Spanish is needed.

Chichicastenango Global Development Inc. needs teachers who can train orphan youth in job skills. Welding, retail trade, auto mechanics, hospitality, and hairdressing. Training is done in a Christian setting and the students learn how to be productive and self-supporting.

Petén , region, c.15,000 sq mi (38,850 sq km), N Guatemala. A humid expanse of dense, tropical hardwood forests interrupted by savannas and crisscrossed by ranges of hills, it is related geographically to SE Mexico and Belize rather than to the rest of Guatemala. The Usumacinta River system drains most of the region. Rainfall is very heavy. There are large, permanent lakes, notably Lake Petén Itzá. The region is relatively inaccessible and has been only partly developed. It produces lumber, chicle, and some rubber and cacao. The sparse population is mostly Native American. Flores is the chief town.

Once Petén was a center of the Old Empire of the Maya and had a dense agricultural population. It is noted chiefly today as the scene of large-scale excavations of great archaeological ruins, notably Tikal and Uaxactún. Although the Spanish nominally conquered the area and Cortés passed through it on his march to Honduras (1524–25), efforts at subjugation were sporadic until the Itzá tribe was driven out (1697) from their stronghold at Lake Petén Itzá.

Ireland - An Evangelistic/Church Planting Team

(4-8 Team Members needed) Would you like to help grow a local church and minister in a local community? You will have the opportunity to do this through friendship evangelism, music drama, beach ministry, kids clubs, street ministry and tract distribution in Balbriggan, a little town North of Dublin on the Irish Sea. As you minister, you will be providing them with the assistance they need to make friends and contacts in the community for various events that will allow them to observe what Christianity is really like. You will be challenged to learn more about the Irish culture and the spiritual needs that exist, and you will be sharing God's love and His Word with them. You will be making a difference in Ireland, in your life and in the Kingdom of God! Rob & Deb Millar are looking for a ready-made team to help them as they pastor at Jamestown Road Baptist Church in Finglas, on the northern edge of Dublin city. Perhaps there are friends you know or people at church who would like to form a team to reach out into the Finglas community. Rob & Deb would like teams to be involved in evangelism of various types: music, drama, kids clubs, youth outreach, street ministry and tract distribution. If you want to bless and be blessed as you help build His church, make new friends and learn to see the world through God's eyes, call us now and reserve your place on the team to work on The Emerald Isle.
