Weaving Hope is a program started in 2019 to teach ladies in the Mokanji, Sierra Leone area to weave so they can provide for themselves and their families in a safe way. Other income options can be dangerous, or not adequately provide.

Colossians 2:2-3 “that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit [woven] together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

A professional weaver is teaching women in our community to weave. Many women in our community are barely scraping by. The economic options are forcing some of them into doing very dangerous jobs. We are also teaching other techniques, such as gara (a type of cloth) dying so the women would have another option for making income.

The classes take approximately 6 months to complete and the cost per student for all classes is $200. Weaving classes are from beginner to stage 4, which is making one’s own tools. Every day, the class begins with devotions and prayer. We are able to minister to the students and create a relationship with them over the 6 months of training.

Your investment in the class allows me to invest in these relationships. Please prayerfully consider sponsoring a student or giving a gift of any amount that will help cover their costs.

Your gift will truly be a gift of hope and freedom as you will be helping to Weave Hope into the life of someone in Mokanji, Sierra Leone. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!
