The World Health Organization reports that it may take weeks or even months to bring the Ebola Virus epidemic under
There is a great need in Sierra Leone because of this outbreak. On the one hand the disease needs to be treated. The recovery is slow and many have died. On the other hand people are starving because of this three month, state of emergency with includes a ban on public meetings and gatherings. This has resulted in the closing of the community marketplaces and therefore has severely limited peoples access to buy and acquire food.
Global Outreach Mission has been contacted by various tribal Chiefs, from many districts as well as others with their desperate pleas for help. Pastors of Churches and Principals of Christian schools are asking for help, saying they are sharing their meager supplies, with those in need. Global has donated our inventory of dehydrated foods, which was intended for our children’s feeding program. We are now down to 15,000 meals which will diminish quickly.
We are supporting the treatment of the disease but we also need the people to become as healthy as possible to strengthen their immune systems so they have a better chance of survival.
Global Outreach Mission has a network of ministry points and schools in various provinces and districts within Sierra Leone. We have a network of individuals that can reach out on a house to house basis to meet this critical need of food.
We need your funding to purchase more rice. A 50 kg bag of rice costs $50 including delivery. This will support a family for one month during this state of emergency. Please pray about this desperate situation and what the Lord will have you do in this matter.
Let’s see how many bags can be delivered. Act Now!
Dr. Brian Albrecht, President
PS: Because of this desperate need maybe you can think of others who can help in sharing this need. Please forward this to them as well. Thank you for your prayers and support.
