02 Foday Koroma
Foday’s mother passed away when Foday was an infant. He has older twin sisters and two brothers. He was passed around to different family members until his uncle took responsibility for him when he was 2 years-old. He lives with his uncle and two brothers (cousins) while his aunt and sisters live two hours away. His uncle is the pastor of our church, having experienced a radical conversion experience from Islam.
Foday is a live wire! It is difficult for him to sit still, and difficult for him to pay attention. He craves physical touch, often grabbing my arm as I pass by his desk to kiss it or hang on to it for a few seconds. He is a bundle of energy, which often gets him into trouble. He lacks supervision at home, but says that when he is home, he likes to study. For him, the best thing about FCA is the snacks. He loves playing with toy trucks and building tall towers with wood blocks.
