God has placed in me a special heart for missionary kids. As an MK myself, I know both the beauty and the unique weight of growing up in this particular way. A passage that I love—and that gives words to the calling God has placed on my life—is Ezekiel 34:11–12: “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.”
Having experienced God’s faithful care in my own life, my desire is to be a voice of hope for MKs—pointing them to their true Shepherd, the God who sees them, fights for them, and pursues them with everlasting love.
The Lord continues to shape what this calling looks like, and in this next season I hope to be serving in dorm life at Black Forest Academy in Germany, where I would have the opportunity and privilege of stepping into this calling among MKs and TCKs (Third Culture Kids) from around the world.
