Bringing Healing and Hope to the Heart of the Republic of Congo

Deep in the tropical rainforest of the Republic of Congo, the MissionGO Kimia Center in Impfondo represents healing and hope for those in the agony of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).

The Aka Pygmies are at extreme risk of destruction by these diseases. Leprosy is one of those. It is curable but in an Aka Pygmy village of 30 people, 11 had untreated leprosy. Young people were handicapped, had open wounds and were marginalized, left to watch the children as the others went happily into the forest.

The Pygmies' isolation in the jungle, discrimination, and nomadic lifestyle are incredible challenges for the Kimia's Outreach team, who is driven by the compassion of Christ to search for them. But at Kimia, healing begins.

A Place of Healing and Transformation

  • Patients and their families are welcomed with open arms and safe shelter during the critical early stages of treatment.

  • Through early detection, multidrug therapy (MDT), and ongoing community-based care, lives are being transformed.

  • Local health workers are trained to recognize symptoms, conduct testing, and educate their neighbors—empowering the community to fight stigma and prevent recurrence.

  • Church partnerships ensure that this care is not only sustained, but deeply rooted in love and faith.

Extending the Hands of Jesus

The Kimia Center is more than a medical facility—it’s a place where the Gospel is lived out daily. Patients learn of the redemptive power of Christ, and outreach teams journey into  the forest and along remote waterways to reach the Aka pygmies with both healing and  hope.

But this mission cannot continue without you.

Be the Difference

Your monthly partnership fuels this life-changing work. Right now we are funding the following projects (click each project to read more):

Each dollar becomes a vessel of grace—restoring dignity, transforming lives, and shining the light of Christ where it’s needed most.

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
