When a woman in Sierra Leone loses her husband, she often loses far more than a partner—she loses provision, protection, and any sense of security for her future. Many are left to care for their children alone, with little to no support in one of the poorest places in the world. We met these women face to face.

During the two years we lived in Sierra Leone, we walked alongside them—listening to their stories, praying with them, and building something together. With the help of faithful local leaders, this widow ministry was born out of relationships, trust, and a deep desire to see these women not just survive, but know they are loved and not forgotten.

Today, from the United States, we continue that work by equipping and training those same trusted leaders each month. Through them, care reaches the widows directly—faithfully and consistently.

Each week, rice is placed into a widow’s hands so she can cook for her children. When illness comes, medical care is provided. Through Bible studies, she is reminded that God sees her and walks with her. And when there is extra, homes are repaired and children are sent to school—opening the door to a different future. Still, many widows are waiting—hoping for the day support will reach them too.

Your generosity becomes part of her story. It becomes a meal cooking over the fire, care in a moment of sickness, and a reminder to a widow that she is not alone and not forgotten.

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
