Daniel Sandoval Mission Trip to Spain

Friends,

I am traveling to Spain this summer (July 21 – August 13). I’ll be located in Alicante, a coastal city on the Mediterranean Sea.

What will my ministry be there? For the last several years, I’ve been serving the Lord with teenagers and young adults through evangelism and discipleship. There is a church in Alicante that will welcome me to serve alongside them. The church is working on their ‘discipleship method’ and they want me to be part of some meetings and become involved with the youth group.

Christianity and church attendance are declining in influence throughout Alicante and Spain as a whole, especially among youth. My goal is to meet with as many young people as I can throughout the weekdays, sharing lunch or coffee, getting to know them, and encouraging them. Many believe in God and even identify as Christians, but don’t understand the Gospel clearly.

During my 20-day trip, I’ll have the opportunity to share the Gospel through relational evangelism as well as through hospitality while I serve at a homeless shelter. I am also bringing along one of the young adults that I mentor (Santiago). Even though we speak the same language as those we will be serving, I believe this is a great opportunity for us to get out of our comfort zone, sharing about Jesus as we walk down the streets or enter stores. Did you know that 39% of the population identify as non-religious? This is a great opportunity for Santiago to serve and evangelize outside of his local church. Would you help us make a difference in Spain?

I was the lost sheep for 18 years, then since the moment I met Jesus, I decided to serve His church and glorify His name in any way possible. For the past 7 years, I have volunteered alongside MissionGO in Costa Rica. My main role was being an interpreter for the medical clinic doctors and for children's and youth outreach in needy and often dangerous places when teams would come down from North America. I've also served with construction and water well projects and helped teach other national workers English.

About 4 years ago, God challenged me about investing my life full-time to help evangelize, teach, and disciple others. To further prepare myself, I attended a 3-month discipleship program to equip me to better share my faith. I worked in my church with youth and spoke a number of times. Now, I am taking courses at ESEPA Bible College in Costa Rica.  As I go to school, I am also meeting with 3 young men on one-to-one discipleship and lead a weekly Bible Study teaching the life of Jesus chronologically. I am planning to invest the next several years at the Bible College to then become a Pastor, or keep doing intentional evangelism and discipleships here in Costa Rica, or go where God wants me to go.

I am creating my support team. Help me to reach the children of Orosi, Costa Rica, for Jesus. Your support will make an eternal impact in their lives!

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
