Bill is the son of our local carpenter, who does a good deal of work for Bill and Beth Arnold (he has three sisters and two brothers). Bill Margai was born shortly after the Arnolds arrived in Sierra Leone and was the first boy named after our missionary. Bill Arnold told the father, “Bill is not a very Muslim name,” but the dad insisted on naming his son “Bill”. Both parents are Muslim and yet most of their children are Christian. Bill has an older sister who attends our secondary school, and she is a strong believer.

Bill is one of the brightest students and is already reading. It is a struggle to find work to keep him challenged and learning. He is very attentive and soaks up the bible stories each day. It is amazing the details he remembers from the bible lessons. He has told his sister that the best thing about FCA is that he gets to learn the Bible. He also enjoys music time as he loves to dance!
