Thomas and Candice Scatliff

Send a Note Start a Campaign

Tom, an engineer by trade, has always had a passion to use his engineering skills to better the lives of others. He loves using his gifting to advance the Gospel and care for those the Bible refers to as “the least of these”. His wife Candice, a nutritionist with a master’s degree in international nutrition, finds great joy in using her knowledge to improve the health of individuals and families in developing countries.

After serving as missionaries for nearly a decade at a tech-based ministry in Indiana, Tom and Candice are stepping into a new area of service: They have moved to Guatemala to serve children and adults with disabilities. Tom is using his engineering skills to address quality of life challenges and use this as an opportunity to develop relationships for the sake of the Gospel.

Along with raising and homeschooling their four young boys, Candice will be assisting established nutrition clinics and feeding programs aimed at improving nutritional status and birth outcomes of Guatemalan expectant mothers living in poverty.

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
