Adult Literacy Training Sierra Leone

Location: Mokanji, Sierra Leone, West Africa

Dates:  Customize your trip, consider a duration of a few weeks, months, or a longer-term opportunity.

Serving: Based on your gifting and experience, work with local adults learning to read and write.

Description:

MissionGO serves in Sierra Leone, showing the love of Christ in this community by providing early childhood education and support of local schools, as well as opportunities for adult literacy education.

Opportunities exist to be involved in short-term ministry in the area of adult literacy training.

Mokanji is a rural community setting where the economic and political conditions over the last 20 years have contributed to extremely high illiteracy rates among the adult population.  Are you interested in joining the effort to help change this?

Additional Notes:

English is the official business language for the country.

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
