MissionGO’s Canadian Benevolence Fund (MGOCBF)

The MissionGO Canadian benevolence fund (MGOCBF) is intended to provide financial or material aid in times of emergencies. It will supply immediate assistance in cases of severe illness, personal injury, or when disaster, such as flood, fire, hurricane, etc., occurs. The establishment of this fund is a service for accountable handling of requests for aid.

The MGOCBF will strive to maintain a reserve balance in the benevolence fund, but fund availability is contingent to gifts received. This balance would be available immediately in an emergency according to the approval of the Benevolence Committee.

How To Give

Please prayerfully consider giving to the MGOCBF. You may give by Credit Card by entering your amount above, by mail (Mail to: MissionGO, PO Box 1210, St. Catharines, ON L2R 7A7) or by EFT. We are so grateful for your prayer and financial support. Your generous gifts will allow us to help people in need when they need it.

Designated Gifts Policy

Spending of funds is confined to organization-approved programs and projects. Each restricted contribution designated towards an organization-approved program or project will be used as designated with the understanding that, when the need for such a program or project has been met or cannot be completed for any reason determined by the organization, the remaining restricted contributions designated for such program or project will be used where needed most.

Applications

Applications for assistance will be submitted to the Benevolence Committee for evaluation of their worthiness. Additional inquiries for pertinent information regarding the individual or church making the request may be initiated by the MGOCBF. After approval, an appeal for help may be made by letter to the MGOCBF and/or e-mail to the mailing list.

All receipts and disbursements shall be handled through MissionGO. As a general rule, the amount given to any applicant will be limited by the response to the request. Offerings exceeding the amount requested may be retained in the fund. If it is later found that payment through other means such as insurance is available to cover the cost of the emergency, the Committee may discuss with the recipient the return of a proper amount to the benevolence fund for the help of others in time of need.

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
