I (Pradyot) was born and brought up in a schedule caste family in the Sundarban area of India near Bangladesh. My mother was a believer―she prayed for a son after giving birth to four daughters. She promised God that she would dedicate her son’s life to the Lord’s ministry. From my childhood, my mother encouraged and inspired me to be a missionary.
At the age of fourteen, I accepted Christ as my personal Saviour. After my schooling, I became burdened to reach the Bengali-speaking people of Bangladesh and India. I began missionary training to use audio-visual media in the ministry.
I married my wife Dipali at the age of thirty, and we both decided to use radio ministry to reach Bengali-speaking people with the Gospel. With the help of MissionGO, we have been proclaiming the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through radio since 1992. We prepare radio messages, send out correspondence courses, coordinate listener retreats, offer discipleship training, and organize Vacation Bible School programs. During the last two years of the pandemic, we also started online programs for children, youth, and women.
Over the years we have seen thousands upon thousands of Bengali people accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and be added to the local churches. Our aim is to reach Bengali-speaking people around the world, and to do so we need your prayers, encouragement, and financial support to accomplish God’s work.
