Wells of Hope. Doors for the Gospel.

For over a generation, MissionGO has been drilling wells in Sierra Leone — and Jesus has been opening hearts.
Help us keep the trucks rolling and the gospel reaching the next village.

About the project

Sierra Leone is one of the most beautiful, resilient, and water-scarce places on earth. After years of civil war, Ebola, and COVID, clean water remains both a daily survival issue and a powerful gospel opportunity.

Since the earliest days of our presence in Sierra Leone, MissionGO has partnered with local Christians and visiting North American well drillers to develop hundreds of village wells. The result has been measurable on every level:

  • Sharp reduction in waterborne disease, including during Ebola and COVID outbreaks.
  • Hundreds of professions of faith at the wellsides themselves.
  • A growing generation of Sierra Leonean teachers, drillers, and church leaders — many of whom we first met as children in the villages we served.

Why this matters now

  • Recent drought has forced our team to deepen existing wells and reach new villages farther from the main roads. To keep this ministry moving, we need to update two key pieces of field equipment:
  • SUV pickup truck — $50,000 — for transporting materials, pumps, and crews.
  • 4WD compact tractor with scoop — $25,000 — for opening access roads to remote sites.
  • Total campaign goal: $75,000 USD.

A recent story from the field

In the spring of 2026, our drillers visited a well that had run low after months of drought. Before lifting a single tool, they paused and shared the gospel with the villagers. By the end of that first day, more than seventeen people had given their lives to Christ. Over the following days, more followed. This is not an unusual story for us — it is the pattern God has been writing through this project for years.

Ways to partner

  • Make a one-time gift toward the $75,000 equipment goal.
  • Begin or increase a monthly pledge to sustain the project year-round.
  • Pray — sign up for our prayer updates from the field.

How your gift is used

  • Equipment: vehicles, drilling tools, pumps, pipe, cement.
  • Training: ongoing skill-building for our Sierra Leonean drillers.
  • Maintenance: deepening existing wells, replacing pumps, sanitation upgrades.
  • Gospel work: scripture, training materials, and partnership with local churches at every well site.

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
