Shining Light in the Darkness: Our Mission Against Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is a $62 billion per year industry in Asia alone. Japan, though considered a first world nation, ranks among the top countries for both adult and child trafficking. It is currently classified as a Tier 2 country—which means it does not meet the minimum standards for eliminating trafficking.

Globally, 82 million girls and 69 million boys experienced sexual violence last year. That’s 3 girls and 2 boys every second! In Japan, the crisis is escalating. For the past 3 consecutive years, reports of child exploitation have hit record highs—each year worse than the last.

Our Calling

We are a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to ending human trafficking and child exploitation in Japan, with a specific focus on sexual exploitation. But this is not our only concern. Where darkness exists, the light of Jesus must break through.

Grounded in God’s love, justice, and compassion, we work to rescue, restore, and empower survivors. We also engage directly with the systems that allow trafficking to continue―working for long-term change through:

  • Prevention & Education
  • Advocacy & Awareness
  • Aftercare & Restoration

This is not just a social issue. This is a spiritual battle that demands an ongoing, Biblical response. As Scripture says: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age” — Ephesians 6:12

Why We Need You

We are on the front lines: walking the red-light districts, intervening in cycles of abuse, and bringing the healing love of God to those who feel forgotten. This work is difficult and costly―spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Not everyone is called to go, but everyone is called to do something.

We cannot do this alone. You cannot do this alone. But together―through Christ―we can make a difference.

When we partner together and follow God's lead, we ignite a revolution of freedom and restoration. Join us in bringing justice, healing, and hope to the most vulnerable. Let’s stand together to end trafficking and exploitation―in Japan and around the world.

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
