MissionGO's Mobilization Internship (MMI)

Mission Mobilization Internship

The Mission Mobilization Internship is a part-time, professional internship for undergraduate students who are eager to explore cross-cultural, Gospel-focused missions.

As an intern, you will partner with MissionGO’s mobilization team to cultivate meaningful connections on your campus, raise awareness about long-term missions opportunities, and help other students consider how God may be calling them to serve.

This internship is designed to provide valuable ministry and professional experience while remaining flexible enough to fit within your academic schedule and, when possible, meet internship requirements for your school.

About MissionGO

At MissionGO, our mission is to spread the Gospel of God’s grace as revealed in His Word. Rooted in fellowship with like-minded believers, we seek to win souls for Christ and empower those called by the Holy Spirit to serve wherever He leads.

Since 1943, MissionGO has helped missionaries bring the life-changing message of Jesus Christ to people around the world. With offices in the United States and Canada, MissionGO now serves in 55+ countries with hundreds of missionaries involved in ministries such as church planting, evangelism, discipleship, radio, medical care, community development, and more.

MissionGO exists to help missionaries faithfully fulfill their unique callings while making disciples among all nations.

About the Internship Program

The MMI program gives undergraduate students the opportunity to engage with an international, non-profit missions organization in a real and meaningful way.

As an intern, you will actively contribute to mobilizing, equipping, and sending missionaries around the world. You will help inspire students on your campus by sharing God’s global heart, the urgent need for missions, and the opportunities available through MissionGO.

This internship is more than a list of tasks. It is an opportunity to step into real ministry, grow professionally and spiritually, and discern how God may be leading you in missions.

Throughout the program, you will receive one-on-one guidance from a dedicated mentor who will invest in your growth, help you process your experiences, and provide encouragement and accountability along the way. You will also participate in monthly cohort meetings with other MMI interns.

Our prayer is that every MMI participant would thoughtfully and prayerfully consider long-term career missions with MissionGO. We do not see this internship as an endpoint, but as a launching point. Our desire is to help you discern God’s direction for a lifetime of faithful service. Upon completing the internship, it would be our joy to welcome you more fully into the MissionGO family as we walk alongside you, support you, and equip you for sustainable and fruitful ministry.

Time Commitment

The internship is flexible, but purposeful.

MMI interns should plan to dedicate an estimated 75-100 hours per semester, averaging about 4-6 hours per week.

The weekly schedule may vary depending on the season. Some weeks may require more time, especially during recruiter visits, campus events, or class presentations. Other weeks may require less time, especially during busy academic seasons like finals week.

Before the school year begins, interns will complete a virtual training program designed to prepare them for effective campus mobilization. Interns should also plan to attend the online MMI Kickoff Training. Exact dates may vary each year.

Five Areas of Responsibility

During the school year, MMI interns serve in five main areas:

Administration

Interns help with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps ministry moving forward. This may include communicating with faculty, staff, and campus offices, reserving rooms, coordinating opportunities, and helping organize campus visits or events.

Class Presentations

Interns help share about missions in classrooms, dorm settings, student gatherings, local churches, Bible studies, and other ministry environments. These presentations create meaningful opportunities for students to hear about missions and consider how God may be leading them.

Advocate Development

Interns build relationships with students, professors, campus ministry leaders, and others who care about missions. The goal is not to mobilize alone, but to raise up advocates who will pray, promote, encourage others, and possibly consider going themselves.

Meetings with Interested Students

As students express interest in missions, interns help meet with them one-on-one. These conversations create space to hear students’ stories, answer questions, pray with them, and help them take next steps in exploring short-term or long-term missions opportunities.

Event Planning

Interns help host and promote events that create space for conversations about missions. This may include interest meetings, prayer gatherings, tabling opportunities, dorm nights, campus ministry events, recruiter visits, or events in partnership with student organizations.

Mentorship and Cohort Meetings

MMI interns are not expected to do this alone.

Each intern will maintain regular contact with a mentor through brief weekly check-ins and monthly cohort meetings. These times are designed to provide guidance, accountability, encouragement, and ongoing professional and spiritual development.

Interns may also have opportunities to serve alongside other interns or MissionGO mobilization staff during campus visits and special events. At the same time, each intern will be encouraged to take real ownership of mobilization efforts on their campus in a way that fits naturally within their context.

Who Should Apply?

GAP STUDENTS

Supporting a gap year student is an investment in a young person stepping boldly into the world to grow, serve, and discover their calling. During a gap year, students gain real‑world experience, develop maturity, and engage in meaningful work. As they serve, they deepen their relationship with God, seek His direction, and better understand the unique purpose He has for their lives.
